A New Adventure for Reedy Racing as the 2020 Racing Season Begins
2020 has been a year of challenges for everyone, and the local racing scene has been affected just the same. Reedy Racing has had to change their plans with the shuttering of their home track. The team decided to open their unique season at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC on Saturday May 23rd. The race was originally scheduled for Friday May 22nd but Mother Nature intervened and pushed things back one day. After a test session a week prior, the team looked forward to race night to see how things would go. Bryan had never seen the track in its current configuration before the pre-season tests. The learning curve is and continues to be steep. The Daleville, VA driver placed the Wood’s Service Centers Inc., Mobility Plus of Virginia, DCT Towing & Recovery, Faye Curren MKB Realtor, Chris Kocher MKB Realtor, Maxey Seat Cover Center, Sports Haven Inc., Clark’s Racing Engines, Hedgecock Racing Enterprises Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 13th out of 17 starters in qualifying with a 15.802 second lap around the tight four tenths of a mile bullring. The 75 lap feature went caution free and Bryan brought home a 13th place finish, continuing to learn the track and get valuable information for the crew. The team and driver learned a lot and are looking forward to making a return to North Carolina to continue to improve its program there. The next scheduled race at Ace Speedway is Friday May 29th with Twin 50 lap races scheduled for the Late Model Stock Cars.
